How to Make Your Scent Last From Morning to Night
Moisture, placement, and one habit to quit — how to carry a scent from morning to night.
By Maya Renne
Most scents do not fade because the perfume is weak. They fade because of where and how they are worn. Skin chemistry, dryness, and even the weather decide how long a fragrance stays with you.
Start with moisture. Scent clings to hydrated skin far longer than to dry skin, so apply an unscented lotion first, then spray. Two sprays on the sides of the neck and one on the chest will carry most eau de parfums from breakfast to dinner.
Do not rub your wrists together after spraying. The friction warms the oils and crushes the delicate top notes — the bright citrus and green opening you paid for disappears in minutes. Spray and let the mist settle on its own.
Fabric is your quiet ally. A light spray on a scarf or the inside of a jacket holds scent for days, while skin resets every evening. And if you want one scent to last a full working day, choose depth: smoked woods and amber, like our Sylva Fumée, naturally outlive fresh citrus by hours.
